Fresh Pear Cake
Mouth watering and easy to make Fresh Pear Cake
- 3 Fresh pears
- Sugar (granulated)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- approx 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- ground cinnamon
- ground cloves
- Spice Cake Mix
Peel, core and slice pears and sprinkle with sugar until completely coated. Cover and let sit for 1-2 hours.
Melt butter and pour into bottom of 13x9 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over melted butter. Drizzle corn syrup over brown sugar. Make sure sugar and syrup mixture coats entire bottom of the pan. Sprinkle cinnamon liberally over sugar mixture. Sprinkle ground cloves lightly over sugar mixture. Layer pear slices into pan.
Prepare cake mix according to directions on box. Pour over pears.
Bake according to directions on box but it will take about 20-25 minutes longer. Check cake for doneness with toothpick. Cake is done when toothpick comes out clean.
Let cake cool for about 5-10 minutes and invert onto platter.
